Hi All, I stripped out my new (to me) 17k '03 FLSTCi and would appreciate your thoughts on the tensioner blades.

The bike has been routinely H-D serviced, so to my eyes the 'honest wear' and lack of pitting / surface break up are welcome sights (inner is similar)
Clearly the blades are worn, but with a typical annual mileage of just 2-3k I'm thinking I've a year or two yet...

Thoughts, comments, feedback are all welcome

I always encourage changing the whole system out to either a full hydraulic set up or if the pinion shaft allows, gear drive. Yes they look fine at the moment but they will wear and there is only one place for the plastic particles to go and that's into the oil circulation system. The filter should do it's job and catch most of it but I've seen plastic debris blocking piston cooling jets and I've found it in bearings and lifters. I've also seen these completely disintegrate at 14000 miles and I've seen others that look like yours at 30000 miles.
