Turns out after 50k, my regulators on the blink. Bought a £60 chinese paper weight from hogparts. Was as duff as the stock harley one.

Splashed out on a USA made cycle electric one. What a difference. Weighs a ton. Very well made. Everythings all hunky dory again.

Moral of the story, dont buy cheap electrical crap from china.

It's difficult, though. Trying to find a non Chinese or Taiwanese part can be impossible. Also, the cost is a serious impediment. But I take your point. I've worked through two solenoids and two starter motors in 2 years (different bikes) ......
