Hi All,

I want to do a touch up and need to know the paint colour of the black front forks but cannot work out what colour it is?!

The colours listed for the bike are for the tank etc but not the forks as far as I can tell...

It's a 2017 XG750

If anyone can help that would be really appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

I was told many years ago by a Paint Specialist that Black is Black! It doesn’t matter who manufactures it, if it says “Black” on the tin then it is the same for any manufacturer brand. So H-D Black paint will be the same as Holts, Halfords, Car Plan, Simoniz or any other brand. That is of course if it is just Black and not some other exotic mix.
HTH.

Thanks for this. Yeah it's a kind of satin black or something different to the tank.
Unless someone else has a better idea I think I'll take a punt at halfords

If it's satin it's come up on here before, try fire grate polish.

As for Black paint all being the same, I take it you have never tried to get a match with black paint!

Now i get the satin, matt etc but it needs to match the finish on the bike - satin is a good way to go as it does adapt to different lights (really) . The stove and grate polish washes off. I use it on my engine where it lasts 3/4 months as a touch up.

Hi All,
I'm looking at the Harley Davidson XL1200 Forty Eight 2016 plate and wondered if anyone has/had one and what their thoughts are on them?
Seems to be a number of them out there for sale with low mileage and multiple owners and wondered if there was a reason for that...
Thanks!

Piddly little petrol tank is the main issue I have done a couple recently with 15l upgrades using a tank made in Italy with good results the other issue seems to be the low fuel level warning light and mileage countdown set up that plays up with the light coming on at 2.5l
a litre of which is the wrong side of the tunnel so people run dry as there is no crossover pipe like a big twin :panic:

I had a 2015 ,48 can honestly say it was a cracking little bike . No problems in the 6yrs i had it. Only down side as mentioned the fuel tank

I just put em together for people they seemed to ride ok with a decent stage 1 and bigger tank but me on a sporty looks like a tampax shoved up an elephant :v_funny:so probably not own one personally

Hi. If you use face book check out the sportster sickness page you will get advise on there aswell as here, also you might be able to pick one up at a decent price

Hiya! Does anyone think the short shot exhausts are too loud? I'm looking at a Sportster that has them on but it's over 100 miles away and don't want to drive all the way up there and waste my time. I like a bit of a noise but not having to wear earplugs because of them which I'm reading some people have found on the interweb.. Cheers
