Hi

Finally chosen the new handle bars for my fatty. Going for RK style 1 1/4 chubbies with a 16" pullback same as the 508's

http://www.wild1inc.com/handlebars.html

Is there anybody out there who have fitted these bars and give me some advice?

Do I need to change from stock the wire loom to the switches (either side), accelerator cable or clutch cable.

IF i can use the standard wire loom any tips on how to get the plug on and off the end of it?

Thanks Nick

Re: Another Handlebar question

I fit these to my road king and the wiring was just long enough.
I NOTICED THAT THE BARS TWISTED WHEN MANOVERING AROUND GARAGES,
Have replaced the seperate bar clamps witha single one.

When I fitted the same bars I had to extend the wiring by 6" and replace brake lines but I made do with the stock throttle and idle cables but that came back to bite me on the arse  Bloody cables wrapped themselves over the petrol cap whilst manouvering at slow speeds in a field full of bikers and the locked steering led to an embarrassing but damage free tip over

What I'm trying to say is that when you fit the bars is the time when you'll find out if you need to extend or replace cables or wiring but be prepared to do it 'cos it's likely that something will need changing.
