Right while its aw just Birfdays and people trying to work oot whit to do on the new set up!!

I thought I had better sneak in a wee query ( Naw Jimmy Somerville!!!)

After last years "BIG REAR" i have decided tae get a big front to match!! I have been offered a 250 (Actually a 280 at present(i will downgrade tyre to match ma rear!!)!! yeppp!! 280 front!!!)

But I need some feedback from somebody whos driven , or had a shot with sumfin that big up front(god this is open to abuse!!) (Can it turn?? can it handle wee Greenock type streets and corners? do ye need Popeyes erms??)

Right start Slaughtering!! But If I could get one wee serious helpful comment before i take the plunge to buy this!!!!

This shouldnae be the marathon the rear wiz!! its only wan big bolt and a couple o brake lines!! (A sunday shift????)

(I know this isnae the technical section!! But ye dont get a technical answer here anyway, and its jist like feeding the animals!!)

Re: Big Front End!

Re: Big Front End!

jist sumthin fer ye tae think aboot, all bike tyres are marked front or rear use only with the exception o mybe whitewalls. your supposed to notify yer insurance o any changes, if you throw yer bike up the road and an engineer comes oot an theres a rear tyre oan the front yell get baws awe loot:eek: me a wid dae it but a don't really give a ferk, ye win sum ye loose sum;) so the question noo is dae ye care:D : as fur the handlin ye know whit they say a rides a ride   :D :D

Re: Big Front End!

When I was in the NCC I built a hard tail chop with GS 1000 Suzuki motor 230 rear which at the time was the biggest you could get then and a 15inch x 200 in the front which give it a fat wheel look not like a modern 200 sports tyre now.It was ridable with practise,o.k on the straights you could let go of the bars and hit the biggest pot hole and it would not move at all but try leaning it over and all it wanted to do was stand up,gyroscopic effect. The moden wheels and tyres are a lot better now and i think Taylor engineering runs a 250 in the front and a 330 in the rear of his VRod and he get a round o.k.If you want something to handle you would not have bought a Harley in the first place.
