Buell Lightning is the muts!

Just wanted to post this....
I went for a ride on my Buell XB12 Ss today and it is the muts nuts! I haven't been out on for about 4 months due to bad weather and have been using the tractor lately. What a refreshing change it was to have a blast on the Buell! I bloody love it! It is honestly the best bike i have ever owned!:60277EB7B04744289C0

I've used mine all through the winter apart from when it's been icy.....

But, I took the softail deluxe out for an hour last weekend and it brought a really big grin on my face :D :D :D :D

Can't say which bike I like the most.

Both so different and make me grin for different reasons.

Yeh both got grin factor but have been thinking about selling the softail. It's got grin factor but just not the same as the Buell and doesn't handle that well 2 up. I can't help but think the Buell is my toy and a 2 up bike should be a CB1300. Don't know......

Good call. It's an under rated bike by the masses and will be until HD sell Buell through seperate dealers aswell as 'some' HD dealers.

Anyway, mines a 12 and i got the lighting long. My last bike before this was a fireblade and the buell handles better and to be honest is more fun as a V twin and the gears are shorter.

I had an xb9 and now I've got the XB12Scg ( short arse model :redface: ) and I love it :D

NO. But i can understand why they would to alot of Harley riders. The brakes on my softail are best described as chocolate!

My cure for that was a pair of 13inch Harrison discs and 6-pot Billet calipers! Result....:wink:

ok my dealer has been awesome and my problem prone and at times dangerous sportster has been bought back which left me a wedge of cash to but a bike so i have just paid for a XB12SCG it fitted and looks awesome in orange lets hope its not as problematical as my sportster which always seemed to be in the dealers workshop ride for a week in for 2 ride for another week and off it went again argghhhhh i have my fingers crossed for this Buell

Good work! I've not had any engine probs with my buell apart from had to change the spark plugs!

well the Buell is a revalation its smooth and the power is awesome, i just have to get used to the handling as its seems to need more effort to corner than the sportster? but when you get it right :D oh yes the front brake should come with a health warning i did a typical Harley front brake action to avoid a dozy motorist and it lifted the rear wheel:9399D3F58B324EE1B68, i have to remember 2 fingers max on the front brake.

Don't start that! The buell is ace handling, mines better than my last fireblade, a harley is like steering a bath tub!! I've still got a big tractor and on corners its as lame as 3 legged dog thats had a stroke on it's left side! Still, HD's aren't designed for corners...
As for the front brake, if you come from a jap bike the brakes are normal. My shock was when i went from a jap bike to my HD, i nearly smashed in the back of many a car n chav corsa's!!

the Buells handling is ace i possibly worded it wrong i used to ride my nightster on its ear with no chicken strips on the tyres due to its wide bars it used to flick in and out but used to wag all the way round like a happy puppy, when i say more effort, more effort to get it to the edge of the tyre and i am still cornering 10-15mph quicker than the nightster and have 3" chciken strips:60277EB7B04744289C0.
