Info please, need to replace the rear eye bolts on a pair of EVO Softail shocks, anyone know if these just screw out of the shock without the need for a spring compressor or any other special tool?

Re: EVO Softail Shocks

Taking some well earned rest mate.
Sorry, the shock has to come off.
You will need a jack for the frame, & one for the rear wheel (to be able to move the swingarm)
The shock bolts are 3/4 inch.
Find a mate with a press, press it together, remove the big circlip, open up the press & remove the rear end of the shock out of the front.
Stick it in a vise, swap the eyes, put it back together.
Takes no more than two hours in the shop. So a days work with a couple of beer breaks:cool:

Re: EVO Softail Shocks

Thanks for the info Phil, not as simple as hoped. Probably better to just take the shocks off and let the local dealer to do the rest.
