Fuel tank compatability.

I have a 2004 Sportster custom with a 17l tank, I am wanting to fit a smaller peanut tank,I know that the earlier ones (pre rubber mounts) have different fittings, but will one from a fuel injection model fit and if not what are the differences , and is there a kit to convert one?

Your year the tank was available in 17l and 9l as well as 12 l loads of choice and no converting unless yours is injected…..

I’ve managed to get an Efi tank with a nice paint job cheap does anyone know anywhere in the UK that I can buy one of the adaptor plates?
