This club specialises in such exotica, Mort, and are currently candidate club for the Fed. I met them at the Presidents' Meeting in Holland, good bunch of guys and very helpful.

2-Stroke Spaghetti Harley Riders

Website is in Dutch and English.
Thanks for this link Kev.
I have the AMF 125cc, registered 1978, I think it's the SX125 but there is no indication on the log book. It was aquired for my lad but he is not really interested - too busy building a car.

The bike is in a bit of a mess and needs lots of bits & pieces - I visit most local 'bike jumble' events on the lookout for possible bits. This link might be a way to locate those elusive bits.

Bob, put the serial number on a PM to me and I'll tell what it was/is/will be(?)

One thing I do know, the CDI unit is a much sought after item. I vaguely recall that Harston Motorcycles in Anglia were once specialists and were trying to find a more common available alternative.

The 125 used points so I guess you mean the 175/250.
The ignition module part number (in european catalogues, no two digit year suffix) is 21086 however in the supplement updates it is given as 27999 - suggesting already known as a weak point? There could possibly, only possibly, be a Ducati substitute but I am not willing to stake my sandwich on that.
The rectifier number is 21087.
(sourced from H-D International parts books - I have X/Z-90, SXT-125, SS-175/250 and SSt-250. Earlier two-stroke years are out on loan at present)
