Interesting Bike

Afternoon.

Spotted this at the Cardiff Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. Looks like a Vincent in a Buell chassis, but no. The engine case has been machined off leaving the Sportster gearbox and primary which has then had the Vincent motor transplanted onto it.

If that wasn't enough he's fuel injected it with home made manifolds. The engine and box looked they had been manufactured for each other.

Re: Interesting Bike

Now does this mean that somewhere is a Rapide with Sportster case and barrels..?

Re: Interesting Bike

Major kudos due there! I absolutely love stuff like this and will think of it as I round off another nut...
Imagine the circumstances that made this possible. Outstanding.

Re: Interesting Bike

It was normal practice in the good old days to "cut" a Vincent engine, especially if you put it in a Featherbed frame, its a bit of a crime nowadays. The engine sat better in the frame. Google 'barton norvin' for a good example.

Re: Interesting Bike

the buell engine would be the better one ,,,,, my mate has both bikes a Viny and Buell ,

he says the buell runs rings around the Viny
