Loctite 620 on valve seals ..

I'm just about to put my heads back together after having nucleus guides fitted & flow work .. The manual calls for Loctite 620 to keep the seals in place .. all I can find here is a 250 ml bottle at about ?113 + VAT!!! Spoke to a freind who says that Loctite 272 is just as good .. another friend says don't use anything .. Just how critical is this?

Look on the Loctite site you will find the spec and usages for each grade. Personally, if it says use it I would, if you dont it might mean another stripdown.
