Oh dear 6th gear missing

PMK

Reps Liaison Officer
Here's today's tale of woe. This morning everything was fine and what passes for normal around here.

On the way home it seems that sixth gear has decided to take a holiday. All the others work fine but in top it feels like it's jumping (like a chain jumping over sprockets)

Am I in really big trouble ?,

Check the basics first. .......

Make sure clutch is adjusted properly.

Make sure linkage moves freely.

Make sure the shift lever at the transmission is tight on the shaft, no wobble.

Make sure the actual lever is not obstructed in any way and has full movement.

If that's all OK It will more than likely be an internal fault.

Surely if its the linkage it would affect all the gears not just one (6)

I will have a good poke about though next week as I'm off to Somerset tomorrow to drink the European Cider Lake.

I also have it booked in to be ministrated to by the one and only Fuz. That'll give him something to scowl about 😁😁😁
