Rear Brake Problems

Need some help please - took the bike for a MOT at the weekend - only thing I got pulled up on was my rear brake light not working - works fine using the front brake, so bulb ok, but when you stamp on the old tractor pedal - bugger all - any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi john T sounds like it may be your rear brake light switch, ,have a look where your rear mc is, depending on your model {what is it?} you should see a cone sorter shaped unit sticking out with two wires, make sure ignition is off, and carefully pull the wires off and use a bit of wire to join them, turn on ignition press b pedal this should light up the brake, if so this should mean the bl switch need replacing, unscrew fit new one, careful not to over tighten.
