Just to add a bit to what Andy, says here, the length of a M/C shock is generally given as the length between the mounting holes, the travel is the length in effect that the damper rod can compress from fully extended, i.e. maximum up and down. The specs need to be read carefully as to what you actually get. Increasing the length of the shock doesn't necessarily mean you get an extra inch in travel.
Increasing travel but using similar rate springs will give a better ride. Fitting springs more suited to your riding weight even at the same length as the bike has will improve the ride.
You buying a suit, or a set of shocks?i had to give my weight, height, and leg length, ????, strange, ive gone for Ohlins 12.5inch
It's so you get the right spring rate for your weight without too much sag makes for a better ridei had to give my weight, height, and leg length, ????, strange, ive gone for Ohlins 12.5inch
