Mid Week Ride Out Wednesday 6th September- Mendips and Chew Valley Lake - Route now added
Its that time of year where we try to use as many of the warm and sunny days for a ride out as is sensibly possible. The weather forecast looks excellent for next week, so we will be putting on a short notice ride out. The plan is to meet up at Beckington services, spend the afternoon exploring the Mendips, with plentiful coffee stops, stop at Chew Valley Lake chippie to grab some tea and then make our way to the Bell at Standerwick for the R14 meet.
The loose plan will be to leave Beckington, head to Cheddar via Wells, where we will stop for refreshments. We will then head to Chew Valley Lake chip shop, going via Burrington Coombe. We will then make pur way to the Bell. Actual route may vary on the day, but we will stop at Cheddar and Chew Valley. The ride will be suitable for all skill and experience levels. Take the opportunity to make the most of the tail end of the summer and come spend an afternoon cruising around in the sun.
It’s the time of year when every dry and sunny riding day, is a precious opportunity to be grasped and made the most of, before those wet and cold riding conditions take hold…….
Meet up point Starbucks, Beckington Services, A36 Trowbridge Rd, Frome BA11 6SF - Departing 2pm
Cheddar Gorge car park (see attached image for location) - aiming to arrive around 3pm
Chew Valley Salt and Malt chip shop (see attached image for location) - aiming to arrive about 4pm
Please comment below if planning on joining us for this leisurely cruise around the mendips.
