Newsletter for Region 29

May 2022

This is the bi-monthly Newsletter for Region 29, timed between the issue of the Harleyquin magazine from the Club.

The Harleyquin Mag

With the temporary or quite probably long-term curtailment of our full round up in the ‘Quin, should we use this as a round up? My feeling is “No”, as it does not have anything like the same standing. It’s seeing our names, exploits and photos in a glossy mag that we like! Other suggestions are to put more on Facebook or on our own website, which we could make more use of. Either way we will need to prioritize what we put in the ‘Quin and keep it to a couple of pages. I’m hoping the Club Committee will review the plans for the ‘Quin and give us some guidelines for what they want to see.

If anyone is a skilled website admin; or a willing-to-learn amateur; who can keep our website up to date – please contact me. (Ruth has tried to teach me, but alas…)

Prom Escorts

  • For anyone not going to our International Rally in June, there is a Prom escort requested for Darryl Gwilt’s daughter, Lauren who is a big H-D fan. It’s on Friday June 10th, early evening and in the Newtown area. Do contact Darryl directly if you can help out.
  • Another Prom escort, this time Mike Dunfey’s granddaughter Madison, on Weds 29th June, early evening, near Albrighton. Do contact Mike directly if you can help and he will post details nearer the time.
We took Madison’s brother Dylan to his Prom a few years ago, and it was spectacular – the bikes outdid the stretch limos by far; so, I hope we can support these two events as well.

The Bryn Meet

Asst Rep Andy Sutherland and Rep Al Lloyd have been discussing alternatives as some members are finding the travel/costs too much. Andy will have an update at this month’s Meet this Sunday 8th May, so do come along for a catch up.

Region Camping

We have two Region 29 camping and music weekends to look forward to –

  • The Tiddly Camping Weekend Friday 1st July to Sunday 3rd July – two great bands: Eternity Road and End of the Road. Contact Neal Benting for details and tickets.
  • The Anglesey Camping Weekend Friday 2nd September to Sunday 4th September – Location to be confirmed, but it will include a live band and food and bar on site. Steve Hewitt will post details on Facebook soon, so keep an eye out.
So, get the dates booked in your diaries!

That’s all this time. See you at The International if not before!
