Road King seat upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading seat on my "98 RK for more long ride comfort.

HD's own Sundowner seems popular, esp the solo. Anybody here got personal experience? Honest feedback is appreciated.

I have a sundowner on my 98 RK …. Lovely had a mustang on a softail twinkie again lovely , just down to personal taste, both are great

I changed the original seat on my 2002 Road King Classic, after riding to Barcelona with the wife in 2003. She complained that the original seat was not very comfortable after about 200 miles a day. Fitted a Mustang touring seat and she has ridden over 60,000 miles and has never complained since. Still have the bike and the seat is in great condition. Very comfortable for me too.

If your seating posiiton is okay, just the comfort during a long ride, something like, stop to refuel, but need 15 minutes or so, to feel good again. it may be worth considering keeping the seat and getting it reworked with some medical gel by a custom seat dude.

Mines a 2014, but also got a mustang wide solo, and mustang full seat. Worth every penny. Still looks like new. Very comfy seats.

Boris with your contacts you may consider a USA police seat air sprung. I've not used the highway pegs since I fitted this 15 years ago legs are so relaxed and my bum ain't bad either.

Put a Sundowner on the RK when I first bought the bike. Wouldn't consider anything else now

I use a Mustang, as many here do. Very comfy for me plus passenger. Also, the pillion can be popped off easily.
