Rusty Pipes

Any tips on removing this…..looks to far gone?
I think it’s the muffler rather than the pipe.

Left pipe? If so, the left pipe on M8 tourers is prone to rusting if the bike is run up on cold days due to the left pipe not getting hot enough for condensation to be fully evaporated. The moisture lingers after the bike is shut down and eventually you get that type of surface rust in the end of the silencer. The left pipe on my chrome cobra’s went the same way in a very short amount of time.

I’d either take the end cap off, or mask off the end cap and rub down the rusty end of the baffle, then give a few coats of aerosol BBQ paint or satin black VHT in either brushing or aerosol format. Once the paint is cured a light wipe over with ACF50 will probably stop it happening again.
