Question has been asked on a forum I am a member of about the number of Servi-cars still about in the World. A figure of +/- 50,000 was quoted. I suggested there may be up to 50 in the U.K. but it would be nice if there was a register of them.

Do we have, or is there one anywhere? Do we know how many are registered with the Club? Can we run a question on here?

You may do worse than to contact the VMCC Ray; they have a "machine Register" which might be of help. If you're not a VMCC member and you need to be to access the information, I'd be happy to do it for you on your behalf.

Shame they seem to had disappeared the Broads ride theirs regularly. But Carol use to turn up on Stuart Graham's old one, Jezz Shirley bright yellow early servi was awesome. He could really ride that thing too,

Ray, I've just had a chat with Peter Reeves, who is to my mind a very reliable source of info and is also the VMCC Marque Specialist for Harley-Davidson; his guess as to total numbers would be about twenty.

Since I've never actually seen a Servi at a VMCC meet (apart from those owned by known Club members) I don't think he's far wrong.

blimey is that all, just goes to show how much the club has changed over the years, I'd bet most of those 20 went through riders club members.

When I was 15 I took my dads servi for a wobble around the block he wouldn't have known if I hadn't hit the bush and a bit of door frame.. Oops

I did ring the VMCC by the way. The chap who deals with the machine register is only there Wednesdays and Thursdays; since you're a man of leisure these days and I'm up in the lost world of North Wales tomorrow (no mobile signal) you might try giving them a call. 01283 540557. If it's just a quantity you're after I don't see why they shouldn't help you.
