'64 pan bought in 1988 kept it until I got effed off with kick starting...hey i'm not 18 anymore, totally original when I got it but over 25 years or more, and two major motor rebuilds over 40000 miles, I finally swapped the Linkert for an SnS, the points distributor for a Mallory and added an external oil filter.
Still, if the b'std didn't want to start after a couple of kicks I learnt to go back indoors, have a beer and a realignment of my chakras or some bollix, and go back later. in the end I bought a standard Sporty, flattracked it. oh.!..belt drive, oh!... no kickstart....
somebody offered me ludicrous amount of money for the Pan, enough to buy the Sporty upstairs, another abandoned 883 springer bobber project, a brand new out of the crate outboard. sorry for the photo quality,...And still have some left over.... Never lost money with a Harley.
