Mechanical 1994 XLH 1200 engine rebuild

Hello all
Stripped my 1200 evo engine about 3 to 4 years ago since then I've left the wife and moved house. It's been a basket case ever since. Been stored inside covered in oily rags.
Now I've got a nice size workshop it's time for a rebuild.
Going to sort and clean all parts first ( hopefully I've still got the all)
I probably will need help with the rebuild.
Not sure how to add photos but will add some later when on PC.

Good luck Tony, it's easy to upload photos. When you create a new post, just click on the little square icon in the row above the post and then choose a picture from your pc.

Whats the best way to get all the old paint off between the fins without sending it off to be shot blasted.

Blasting is the best way. Any other method will take forever and won't get it all out ..

Hello all.

If I decide that I've bitten off more than I can chew with rebuilding my engine.
What sort of price am I looking at for someone to rebuild it for me? I've got all the parts and a full gasket set.
I live in Poole if there is anyone near.

What was it stripped down for in the first place? Are you splitting the cases? Looking at the photos so far it's a top end re assembly and fit the cams which is just nuts, bolts and a couple of torque wrenches.
