Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

 What's the model Spice...?
On my Softail, the fuse box is under the seat, and very obvious when you take the seat off. There's a plastic rain cover which lifts off, and you can see the fuses below. There's a 'map' of the fuses on the cover, so you know which is which.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal before doing any more work.
When you say you ain't got a Manual, do you mean there's no Owners Manual either (the one that comes with the bike). Don't have mine in front of me, but pretty sure it covers where the fuses are and so on.....

Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

Cheers mate its a 98 Roadking classic
looking in the owners manual cant find nowt
gonna look under the seat in a min..
how do I get the seat Off
kin useless aint I...........

Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

Nae idea mate. Mine is held on with a single screw at the back. Screws directly on to the centre of the rear fender.
Yours will be incredibly complicated with 43 screws and dangly bits... :D

I'm sure your Owners Manual must tell you how to take the seat off, or have Manuals really got that much better since '98....

There's zillions of RK owners itching to tell you...

Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

would these not be circuit breakers???? I am aware I may be a little stuck in the 1980s on this sorta stuff, but...................

Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

Spicy mate, like Roger said it is under the side cover.
Untwist the fasteners & remove the left saddlebag,
Pull off the triangular side cover (pulls right off)
The fuse box slides off tabs on the frame.
Unclip & pull the fuses out from the right side bottom of the box.
The fuse you blew is the second from the right.
15 Amp push in mini fuse.

Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

Cheers Phil
as always a wealth of info..
managed to work it out and a pack of three fuses from halfords ?1.50
fitted a new led light on me fender now looks the nuts.
learnt something new.
many thanks for the advice.
I had to disconnect a connector that goes to a little LED
mounted in the left hand side panel
which is supposed to blink as part of the alarm system. It dont
the alarm and key fob are a complete mystery to me.
its a non standard one and god knows what the other button is supposed to do,
I`ve got a worrying feeling that the alarm and immobiliser is gonna jump up and bite me arse, and prevent me from starting when I`m miles from home.
:(

Had the same worry Spicey. Stories of Immobilisers functioning when you don't want them to (Cue disclaimers from people who are perfectly happy with their Immobilisers:rolleyes::rolleyes:).

I decided the only way I'd feel really happy was to remove the Immobiliser or fit just an alarm.

Re: Blown a fuse, Hopefully.

Rob see if you can find the alarm fuse under the front seat you may have blown that too.
that led should be flashing, what make is it?
