Front fork oil seals

Renewing the fork seals on my year 2000 Sporty but forgot to note the correct way they should go in. The seals have one chamfered edge and one raised edge but which edge goes in first? Thanks.
 
Usually the front face of the seal (with the numbers/lettering on) faces outward and the rear (where the circular spring is visible) faces inwards towards the grease or oil.

If you have double lip seals - the fatter ring is the actual seal which keeps the oil or grease in. The thinner one is the wiper which faces outwards and keeps crap away from the seal.
