Gear box oil for a 92FXR

I've got an '89 FXR and I've been using Spectro Platinum synthetic 75/140 for years and never had any problems.

These motors and gearboxes are pre-WW2 technology, mate. No need to over-think it. *ANY* *NAME BRAND* gearbox oil, circa 75W/80W/85W and in combo such as. 75/140, 80/120, 80/140 is going to be just fine. Buy at your local car parts shop. As long as you avoid the cheapest no-brandname stuff, you are winning. I have been doing that since 1992.

I tore down and inspected my 1985 FXEF gearbox with 94,000 miles on the clock just before I sold it 3yrs ago and the gears and forks etc were perfect. Likewise my 1980 FXWG. I am taking the exact same approach with my 2019 Road Glide.
