As there are reasonable questions being raised concerning attendance limits in the current situation, Oz and myself had a meeting with the Small brook stadium management yesterday 29th June, and were assured that there would be no limit on numbers allowed in for that weekend.
When pushed to clarify, they told us as they were licensed for 5,000 at a speed way meet, we could realistically get approximately 800 people camping in the centre of the track and surrounding areas with no problem (the scooter boys have 2,000 attendees there), and as we are free of covid restrictions after July 19th as far as the stadium management are concerned it's a go.
Having said that, covid is still a reality, safety and caution should still be the watch word.
There will be a fully stocked bar, and the food menu is to be of good quality and served in a timely manner, The stadium is used to dealing in high numbers and have extra staff to make it work. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night BBQ is laid on, eg; Full English breakfast at £6.00 inc tea or coffee.
There is plenty of parking for our bikes on the speedway track itself with tents in the middle, so bikes will be close, with bikes inside the stadium same as in the past.
There is some parking available for a few camper vans for members who find camping difficult, by prior request please.
Unfortunately there is a speedway meet there on the evening of 2nd Sept which might be fun to go to, but because of that, we cannot open the gates until Friday morning early.
For those few who want to come down early or stay on after the rally, alternative camping elsewhere might be available by pre arrangement.
This is the best information we have and are going ahead with the rally as far as we can tell.
We will post if there is any significant changes.
Please note; the postal code in the flyer is not correct, use postal code PO33 4BH which will take you to the main entrance.
