Loose primary chain noises

Hi I have a harley sportster 883 with a 1200 bore kit probably??
I have opened the engine up because it was getting rattly and then started banging on acceleration at 50mph
I noticed I had a loose primary chain that wore grooves into the gear shaft would this cause the banging noise?? Thanks

A loose chain will give noise but it could also be that you have a loose front primary sprocket, well worth checking while the covers off.

Yep, Correct Boris.
Notorious for the bearing behind the clutch wearing, because of the heavy clutch basket/rotor. Causing the magnets to catch on the stator and come unstuck.
Fixed one for a mate many years ago with the same problem.
Had to replace the clutch basket 'cos the rotor is part of it, cost a small fortune from Warrs even with discount at the time!
Another stupid idea from Harley.
I'd get it inspected anyway, time bomb waiting to happen.
Sorry to be a prophet of doom!
Just found this improvement, those magnets won't come loose, bloody expensive though.
