im about to pick up my new softail standard in a couple of days, and i know i need to run it in, but in july i have to go to the isle of man. my bike will hopefully be at around the 500 mile stage by then, but i have been told not to use a bike being run in on motorways. up until then it will be run on normal a and b roads with no motorway work.
will going to the isle of man ( 400mile round trip) at this stage cause any damage to the engine?

Re: motorways and running in

Just don't hold it at one speed Dan. That's what I was told when I got my Dyna last year.

Enjoy it mate
