Silver Ball Cafe

Met up with Trev today at the Silver Ball near Royston. Great little cafe with a few old Brit nails outside and a lovely Velo. B1368 and B158 on the way back to scrub in the Avons. What a difference they make to the ride and handling. Big improvement over the old Stinkos, which were worn and old (like me!).

Silver Ball is worth a visit at the weekend too, get quite a few bikes up there.

Re: Silver Ball Cafe

I used to go there regularly, back in the '90's, when I lived in Buntingford...

A big old geezer called Frank ran the place, and he was a character for sure!

The place was the real deal... a rarity these days. I'll ride down there again.

Same windows today at least.

Mine's a Fat Bob, don't want to upset the Low Rider purists!

Frank's long gone, but the place retains it's relaxed charm. So does the area, with it's little villages dotted about. The Bee Hive is still going and the B1368 is still a good road except for the muck and cyclists making it a bit dodgy.
