Suprise, suprise, a Windows 8 problem........

:frown: ......a friend was having problems with Windows 8(spit) apps not opening and asked me to have a look. To cut a very long story short, his apps won't open so, after some head scratching I realised the problems is caused by the apps not being linked to a Microsoft account. An easy fix if I could open pc settings but, as it is also an app it will not open. I have spent a happy couple of hours reading up on all the various fixes; all of which I tried and none of which work.

:frown: .......I now feel both frustrated and unclean having come into such close contact with the cluster-feck known as Windows 8. Before I throw his laptop into my recycling bin does anyone have a fix that actually works?

:frown:.......and yes, I did try setting myself as a local users.

......I gave him his computer back.
