Wheel alignment

Should the rear wheel on a 1991 Softail be central in the swingarm or is it spaced off centre? Mine is about 1/2” further over to the left drive belt side.

May be a bit low tech, but if you line up a straight plank of wood with your back wheel with the bike upright and the forks pointing forward, the front wheel should also line up. If you have a fat back wheel the front wheel should be in line, equidistant between the readings from each side of the back wheel.

That's a really interesting diagram, I always remember being told some Harley's have their wheels offset.
