How many miles - dem looks fecked Don. Will have to look at mine, got some spares on the shelf, suprised you did not notice the handling.

12k Patrick, but looks like hamfisted fitting rather than wear TBH
looks like it was driven in using the inner race
& over tightened as well

Unusual looking damage there Don. :frown:
Would agree, possibly poor assembly, what happened to the bits?

Steve no idea where the shrapnel is, probably a mix in the bearing & on the road.
i have bought new NTN bearings, just waiting for a new spacer to arrive.
the worrying thing is i did a 430mile day trip 2 weeks back :9399D3F58B324EE1B68

....as i had my front wheel & spanners out
i thought i would sort the front fork seals
as one had developed a leak

not too bad a job , they are upside down Showa forks on the X1.
the oil that came out had definitely had better days ..:60277EB7B04744289C0
