Wild South West Rally 14th to 17th September - Arrangements for joint regional group ride to rally on Thursday 14th September

The time is nearly here for WSWR so here is a reminder of the meeting points and departure times that we will be using to collect club members as we make our way to the rally on Thursday. I would like to be able to give the rally organisers an idea of the number of Riders Club members who will joining us at the rally, so please could you do me a favour and comment below to confirm where you will be joining the ride, or whether you are meeting us at the venue. Any questions, please feel free to message me on FB messenger.

Dale Knight is organising a group to ride down from the Midlands regions to the Bristol meet point. Please liaise directly with Dale if wanting to join the group riding from the Midlands 👍

Bristol Meet Point: M5 Gordano Services (WelcomeBreak, M5, Bristol BS20 7XG) for an 11:00am departure to ride down M5 to second meeting point at junction 27 M5. Please group up just before 11:00am in the area next to the petrol station forecourt (not the main car park) and please be fueled up and ready to leave at 11:00am - Please see attached image

North Devon Meet Point: M5 junction 27 services (27 M5, Tiverton EX16 7HD)Departure time 12:30pm for continued journey down M5 and onto the A30 meeting point at Whiddon Down. Please group up in the area next to the petrol station forecourt. - Please see attached image

Mid Devon Meet Point: A30 Whiddon Down Services (Exeter Rd, Whiddon Down, Okehampton EX20 2QT)Departure time 1:30pm for ride down A30 into Cornwall. This is a small servvice area, but again, we will try to group up next to the petrol station forecourt - Please see attached image

Regrouping Point For Ride Into Rally Venue: “The Carclaze” pub (St Austell Enterprise park, Treverbyn Rd, Carclaze, Saint Austell PL25 4EJ) Final regrouping opportunity to pull the group together for the ride into the rally site which is approximately 10 minutes away. Expected arrival time of main group at regrouping point is approximately 2:30pm and we will aim to leave here at 3:00pm. The pub has far reaching views across St Austell bay, so we can take the opportunity to have a quick drink and allow people to enjoy the views before riding into the rally site. I’ll also take the opportunity to contact the rally organisers to let them know our expected arrival time, so that they can get their drone in the air and film our group arriving at the rally site. - Please see attached image

Provided we don’t get any significant delays, the above timings will see us arriving at the rally site for around 3:15pm. That should see us arriving before most of the other Thursday arrivals and allow us to get tents pitched in plenty of time to allow for a supermarket beer run before the Thursday entertainment starts.

We will endeavour to keep the group together on the ride between each meeting point and the route has been chosen to make it easier for people to be able to easily rejoin the group in the event that it gets split up. In the event that you lose the main group, simply ride to the next meeting point and rejoin the group there.

Look forward to seeing you all on Thursday or at the rally venue 👍
