Hiya everyone, (especially Wilf!)

I'm trying to get hold of four willing riders who would like the opportunity of showing off their bikes and escorting my groom and three others to church in York on Saturday afternoon.

Wilf has kindly agreed to deliver the groom and I think I am sorted with two other bikes (not HD's unfortunately but big enough to scare the mothers as their teenage sons are going as passengers!!!) but I need another Harley. It's about a three mile journey.

Is anyone able to help me please?

Many thanks
Rondy

Re: York 21 October 2006

Wow! I'm extremely grateful to you all!

I'll decide by the middle of the week as to whether the forecast is for rain or not. The lads don't want to get soaked with rain in their wedding gear.

Cheers

Re: York 21 October 2006

Don't worry about the weather Lindy, the lads will miss all the rain drops & avoid the puddles as they normally do.....

They also have waterproofs, so they won't be too worried about your friends getting wet in their wedding gear...:D :D

Oh...apart from me that is, I don't posses waterproofs, as they always seem to melt all over me exhausts, much to the amusment of many....

I sincerley hope it's dry for you, & you all have a great day, I'm hoping I can come along and make up the small posse, being part of your day to remember....

Don't think we'll be stopping to watch the ceromony (although you never know)...... cos I always cry at Weddings....

Re: York 21 October 2006

Ahhhhhh shucks!! It seems Hedgehog is the softy of the group!!!!!

It will be good to meet up with you folks on Saturday. I look forward to it and will buy the beer after the drop.

The very best of.

Re: York 21 October 2006

Heeyyy! Sounds like you are all into it as well. Thanks guys.

Well I guess I'm saying yes please to you all! To Wilf, Kev, Kev's mate and to Hedgehog - all four of you - it doesn't matter what the weather is doing. I just can't wait to meet you all. 1pm at our place please. (I'll be the one in the daft frock....)

I understand that you probably don't want to be in the service - that's fine by me (can't stand to see a grown man cry Hedgehog!) but the evening do starts at 7pm. If you are around for that I'd love to buy you all a drink.

I'll ring those of you who I have numbers for on Wednesday - I'm sure you will pass the details on between you.

Can't say enough thanks to you all. I'm sure the day will be magical now that you are all involved.

Re: York 21 October 2006

Lindy, getting closer!!!! Hope you are all excited!!

I will speak to Kev today as he is from Leeds too and not being a native as such will rely on him to guide me up to "your place" as it were. I only know the M62 east and west!

Unfortunately I have a wife in hospital in Warrington at the moment and so cannot hang around for the evening fun and the other lads can let you know what their plans are. I will speak with them.

As you have contact with Suzuki's riders, you may need to find Kev a spare lid for his Groomsman, not sure about the others, again I will let you know, I have a spare and am fine.

Not sure what my fellow riders sit on but you can let Ron know that as it is his day he make the choice.

We are sure you will have a fabulous day and we are pleased to contribute.

Enjoy!

Wilf

Re: York 21 October 2006

Hi Chaps, looks like my little chat with those great guys in the Lincolnshire Metropolitan Constabulary has been deferred until December, so I should be able to make Saturday with no problem........:D

My spare lid is only a medium, so unless one of the four gents has a small head I'm gonna need to borrow one, can someone let me know to save me dragging mine along unnecessarily.

Hedgehog.....:)

Re: York 21 October 2006

Hi Lindy, i will have Sue's (my wife) hemet with me, not sure of the size, so if you can get ones that fit before Saturday that may be the better option.

Kev.

Re: York 21 October 2006

Hiya

I'm getting so excited! More about you guys than the do!

Sorry to hear your wife is in hospital Wilf. If you need to be there instead, I understand but I get the feeling you are a trooper and will be here....?

Two of the groomsmen are young teenagers, so I'm sure one of them will fit in Sue's helmet. (Thanks Sue!)

I'll phone you all tonight.

Re: York 21 October 2006

Me and Andy will be meeting up with Wilf at 12 noon in the Wheatsheaf car park, just before the M621, could meet you (Steve) at Seacroft maybe.

Kev.

Re: York 21 October 2006

Kev, I presume you mean the Wheatsheaf at the crossroads of the Ring Road & Gelderd Road.

My house is obviously on the Way to York from there, but just to make it easy I'll come across and meet you all there for 12 noon.

I'll bring me spare lid just in case, though I have feeling it may be too small for the gents in question.

I hope it doesn't p!ss it down for them.....

Hedgehog.....:)

Re: York 21 October 2006

Spoke to Kev last night and that is the pub you are talking about Steve.

2 days ago the 5 day weather forcast on the BBC website for was heavy rain on Saturday, this morning it is the only day in the five that has bright sunshine??!!

Will bring a lid and an Eddie Wright jacket for one of the boys.

It could work out right for them all.

Cheers

Re: York 21 October 2006

The wedding posse returned safely, with the groom & groomsman safely delivered to church in the weather that held out nicely.

The bridesmaids looked wonderful and I sincerely hope you all enjoy the rest of the day.

Big thanks to Paul & Dave at Eddy Wright Motorcycles in Leeds for fixing my puncture at a moments notice, ensuring we didn't let the wedding party down at the last minute.

Hope to catch up with you some other time. And will find out tomorow Hedgehog when the tickets are free to use.

Lindy and Ron, you did it all with a tad of style today, and I hope you have a fabulous evening. Dont forget to post the pics. Take care all.

Re: York 21 October 2006

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANKS A MILLION...!!!

Word's fail me! Thank you doesn't seem enough. You were all amazing and there are at least 200 people who will talk about what you four guys have done, for the rest of their lives, including me and him. If I could stick music on this blog it would be a fanfare to the truly wonderful Wilf, Kev, Andy and Hedgehog for making our day the best it could possibly be. You were all fantastic. Even the vicar is still rabbitting on about you! Amazing, truly amazing. We love you all for what you have done. Thank you all so much. As soon as the official photo's are out, you will get copies of them all. Until then, try copying this link into your web browser, done by one of our friends (and a national radio star - ssshhhhh!):

http://web.mac.com/willjenkyns/iWeb/The Jenkyns Pages/Ron and Lindy.html

Wilf... Kev... Andy... Hedgehog - get to Tan Hill on 5 November (see the next blog to this one from Kev, for further details) if possible (one of our favourite pubs anyway) and we'll bring the photographs.

Thank you all so much for Saturday. Even the saddest neighbour of ours was smiling when he saw you guys. You are so amazing. OK, I'll shut up with the praise now. We'll see you on the 5th.
