Re: If it isn't one thing.....
Hey guys!
This is Raven posting for Mr. Bear since he still isn't able to see.
Thanks for all the good wishes. Of all the unfortunate recent operations I've had (hernia, cataract, stent, cataract, cataract-repeat) this one is the worst!
Its not that the operation was so bad, but holding your head down for a week to 10 days (they originally told me 3 days, now its a week to 10 days
). There may have been some connection between having two cataract surgeries on the left eye but the doctor says that this sometimes happens when you age. There is a gel in the eye which tends to slip down as you grow older. In my case it was stuck to the wall of the eye so as it slipped it tore the retina. Worse the damage was to the right rear of the eye which made it more difficult to get at, complicating the surgery.
I'll be going back in to see the doctor tomorrow to find out if I can return to Sutter Creek and the higher elevation. I haven't been able to go back since its at 1200 ft elevation and I can't go over 500 ft. elevation until the gas in my eye begins to dissipate. So I'm stuck here in Folsom running up an enormous hotel bill.
I wouldn't even wish this on Maggar:wink::60277EB7B04744289C0(just kidding of course).
As usual the good wishes from people on the site have bouyed my spirits.:smile::smile:
(if anything is misspelled or weird you can blame it on Raven)
