Re: Sx250

Great the fnekin mudguards look like they have been bashed painted then bashed again ,think if they were sandblasted i would end up with 2 small bangles . The carb was leaking a bit so that is off ,cleaned it up now going to strip it hopefully just needs gaskets .:) Managed to get a couple of half decent rear shocks exactly the same as on the bike ,but minus the bliddy great hole where there should have been metal casing that i found on the inside of the right hand shock .They are now nice and clean and on the bike ,Mudguards that i bought off e-bay came and they are good and dent free so will get painted easily ,loads to do and bits to hunt down and buy .

Re: Sx250

Other shocks on ok same as original, slight ding in front wheel will have to get that checked soon .Waiting to replace seals on forks at least tubes are good no pitting .Steering bearings out today ball type been tightened down and abused will look up bearing place local to me then refit ,other than that not a lot else .:)

Re: Sx250

Bearings easy to get and replace ,forks seals took bit longer to get,due to some idiot not measuring properly .
Wheels are now at a specialist builders waiting to hear what he thinks monday.
Got to get the tank looked at and see what is possible to put it right ,then get that and mudguards painted.Progress is slow but no real hurry. :)

The wheel bloke turned out to be none other than Malcolm Simmonds of speedway fame.

Re: Sx250

That seat looks like a really nice job.

Yes mate pleased with it ,very good service as well .
Did the seat to give me something to look forward to when bike is sorted.:)
Not a full restoration by any means but a tidy useable bike is the aim .

Re: Sx250

Nice bike Tony, that seat's the usual excellent job that Lee does.
So if i see a haze of two smoke in the air in North Kent next summer that'll be you and Neil having fun.

Re: Sx250
