Wheel bearings

50k is excellent mileage on a set of HD bearings. My Fat bob only lasted 18k and wrecked the rear wheel in the process.
Replace for peace of mind and not have to go through the wheel removal process until next set of tyres.
Dyna Fat Bob's seem to eat bearings no matter the brand. I tried HD, Timken, SKF and All Balls all within 50K miles (including a collapse and wheel damaging experience). I also had to replace the swing arm bearings / bushes twice. I don't think they like commuting in all weathers.

I had a front wheel bearing go south last year. I have ABS and that bearing was fine it was the other side that failed.

I will use SKF, FAG, Timken or similar from a bearing supplier and the ABS bearing from Harley.

I suspect going to the likes of All Balls just gets another level of mark up.

There is clearly a right and wrong way to install the bearings and elsewhere some don't get how some of the installation tools could be stressing the bearings.
